Mt. Sorak and Sokcho Beach

We spent Veteran's Day on the East Coast of South Korea. Us and 4 other families drove about 3 hours and stayed in a great resort for 2 nights in the Mountains and very close to the Sea. Our first night we arrived late but the kids played until 1am while the adults hung out. The next morning we had a Korean brunch and then hiked up the mountain, Mt. Sorak. This was such a great experience. The weather was perfect, chilly, but nice and the company was awesome. It started off kind of tough because Gabi used all of her energy in the morning, playing and goofing off with the others and when it came time to actually climb she had a fit. We almost turned around, but glad we didn't. She came to her senses and when we caught up with the rest of the group she tagged along witht all her other friends. Jacob fell asleep for part of it but when he was awake he was a realy trooper. Bryan and I took turns with him on our backs in the Ergo. We got to the top that normal people reach and took the famous photo of trying to push the boulder over the edge. Bryan and the other guys went on ahead to the super steep part of the mountain that goes all the way to the top. Bryan took Jacob on his back and realized that he probably shouldn't have. It got late, cold and started to rain so he had to turn back.
That night we had a wonderful Korean dinner with the whole gang and then the kids played between all four rooms while the adults hung out again. We came equipped with wine and beer.
The next day we dedicated to the indoor water park but changed our minds and went to the beach. The kids climbed on the rocks and we went to the top of the lighthouse to see all of Sokcho Beach. It was absolutely beautiful. We had another Korean lunch in the town and it was great. This was the first time that I actually really enjoyed my Korean meal. Why did it take so long? I guess it helps to travel with people that know their way around Korea.
The kids passed out within minutes on the way home and we still had the whole weekend in Seoul. It was a great adventure.
