Christmas Eve lasted into the wee hours and Gabi was so excited that Santa would be here in the morning, that she was in our room every hour on the hour. Finally we just told her to sleep with us. We waited until Jacob woke us up on Xmas morning and realized it was 10am! Have you ever heard of a kid sleeping until 10am on Christmas morning. We had to wake her up! Santa came, ate cookies, drank milk and left a few gifts by the fireplace. Gabi got exactly what she asked him for; the build a bear siberian huskey that she named Doc (for my brother's old dog), and the game "My dog has fleas".
We immediately had to enter Doc into the build a bear website so he can play all the fun games. Jacob got a Lightning McQueen car that he loves to hold onto and crawl with. Cars and balls are his thing right now.
My parents came over and made us pancakes and watched the kids open their gifts. If you can believe this, we didn't open presents until 12pm! Gabi was so patient. We even had time to shower. What a weird xmas morning.
